Job Description for Training Director

The training director is responsible for the employee training practices and procedures for a business. They have several initial tasks to perform at the beginning of a curriculum development cycle. First, the training director must establish what the training needs of the organization are; second, they establish the goals and direction for the training programs. After the data about current programs is gathered, the training director works with subject matter experts to analyze the current programs for their strengths and weaknesses. The training director then writes a report on the conclusions of the analysis, providing opinion on what the goals of the training should be and recommendations on how to retain the strengths of the current program while overcoming weaknesses.
