Commercial directors are in charge of directing commercial endeavors for their organization. They are responsible for managing advertising efforts and interacting with staff and external individuals to increase brand loyalty and awareness. Commercial directors must identify product or services deficiencies and suggest changes. They must oversee these changes and help create methods to track progress. Generally, these directors lead a group of marketing, advertising, and sales professionals to reach company goals; this may require coaching, disciplining, and providing feedback to team members as necessary.Read More...
One of the commercial director's main functions is improve create strategies for improved sales and team management. They also conduct long-term planning and develop schedules according to goals and deadlines, as well as develop performance metrics and goals for their team. In all tasks, commercial directors must follow company procedures and privacy regulations as applicable. Typically, commercial directors report their progress to the chief executive officer in their organization.
A bachelor's degree in project management, commercial development, business analysis, or a related field is required for this position. Previous experience in a related position may be preferred, as may managerial experience. Commercial directors must have excellent organizational skills, work well in a team environment, and have a working knowledge of relevant business methodologies.
