These individuals are in charge of facilitating and reviewing industrial design standards and completing production output. Some of their main responsibilities include developing and implementing industrial design strategies that will maximize efficiency to minimize use of company resources. They develop products that increase brand loyalty, usability, and recognition in selected markets. They conduct research to identify areas of improvement and increment client satisfaction after implementing product and design changes. Industrial design directors collaborate with other company departments to share knowledge and visual developments during the product creation. They manage a group of industrial design professionals and lead by example in performing different design tasks. They motivate personnel to accomplish company goals under strict deadlines. Additionally, they can multitask effectively, and they can work well on their own or in a team capacity. They use a personal computer loaded with industrial design tools and applications to modify designs, and they utilize specialized programs. Industrial design directors follow strict regulations to prevent design errors and possible legal issues. These directors also participate in design meetings and suggest new changes to the industrial phases and design processes. One of their main duties is allocating resources to manage existing products and create new ones. They usually present their progress to the industrial design vice president in their organization.
