Job Description for Industrial Design Director

Industrial design directors are responsible for directing and overseeing the correct industrial design processes in their organization. These individuals are in charge of facilitating and reviewing industrial design standards and completing production output. In addition, they provide support to creative tasks, including the concept, the quality assurance processes, and everything in between.


Industrial Design Director Tasks

  • Select and present designs, working to increase reach and acceptance.
  • Lead and manage a team of designers, assigning tasks and overseeing budgets.
