At least eight years of experience in the field and a bachelor’s degree in marketing are generally required for this position, and some employers may prefer those who have a master’s degree or prior experience in advertising. Interactive media directors are responsible for overseeing a company’s online and third-party marketing initiatives, as well as a team of employees, to ensure that the company’s online content is marketable and reaches potential clients. These directors must be able to think quickly on their feet and find new and innovative ways to appeal to current and potential clients, and a strong technical/computer background is highly beneficial for this position.
