Job Description for Social / Human Service Assistant

A social or human service assistant works at a facility to help clients/patients achieve mental and emotional goals. They may work at a private facility or a government entity. When working in a governmental organization, the assistant often helps screen clients to determine whether or not they are eligible for certain services; they may also follow up with clients to make sure they continually meet eligibility requirements and are following their programs. Often, the assistant works under a social worker’s direction.
