This seems like a very straight forward concept, but most people do not do this. Get what you want on demand Let your boss know what it is that you want. Provide them with all necessary support to reasoning why it is you deserve what your asking for. (i.e. PayScale printout, description of tasks, etc.)
Once you boss replies with, "yes you can have an increase" then great. Job well done. Otherwise, if your boss refuses then you'll have to resort to other alternatives like applying for other jobs.
