The health care industry, the medical device manufacturing industry, and the financial services industry are just a few of the areas in which Marquette grads find work. The majority of Marquette alumni wind up in the manufacturing industry. The average starting salary for a graduate of Marquette is $69K.


In the Marquette alumni community, men make a median salary of $78K compared to their female counterparts, who earn approximately $61K.


Marquette grads who become Operations Managers are compensated well above average — these folks are top-earners among their graduating class, usually making about $118K yearly. Also notably well-paid are Physical Therapists and Marketing Managers; their salaries approach $72K and $65K, respectively. Salaries are anything but generous for Marketing Coordinators, where earnings rank lowest on the pay scale at around $37K.


Marquette alumni do not feel the need to relocate after graduation, and just under a third of grads find stable employment in Milwaukee. In addition, former Marquette students often head to Waukesha after graduating, where typical salaries come to $84K in this top-paying city. For comparison, the lowest paying city popular with Marquette alumni is Madison, which offers median salaries of $61K. Top cities for Marquette alumni also include Chicago and Minneapolis, both located in the Midwest.


General Electric (GE) Healthcare offers the most generous salaries to Marquette grads at around $105K. It may be shocking to discover how many students go on to work for Johnson Controls Inc, one of the lowest-paying employers (median pay is about $65K).

Degree Major

A Master of Science (MS), Electrical Engineering (EE) will compensate Marquette grads at a much higher rate than other fields — these alums tend to rake in approximately $106K per year. A B.A. in Advertising commands less pay, and these degree-holders face salaries of $42K.


One in six grads report using Project Management as part of their job, making it the most popular skill. Leadership commands a pay premium of 49 percent for former Golden Eagles. Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Financial Analysis rank among leading skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Just two-fifths of alumni enjoy paid vacation and merely one-fourth of alumni get paid sick time. A strong majority of survey participants set aside retirement funds in an employer-sponsored 401(k). Health insurance benefits extend to a solid majority of grads, and most survey participants sign up for dental plans. Marquette University alumni are rewarded with additional benefits, such as life insurance, a casual working environment, a company-subsidized cell phone, and tuition reimbursement.
