Among TWU grads, the education industry is a commonly chosen career field. The average starting salary for a graduate of TWU is $64K.


After graduation, disparities in salary rise to the surface — males earn an average around $78K per year compared to females' about $61K. Graduates who responded to the survey skew strongly female, with a female-to-male ratio of more than 3 to 1.


Houston, Texas is a hub for TWU graduates — a large number call this city home. Dallas, Texas is another hot spot for TWU grads, where salaries rank at the top of the pay scale (compensation averages out to $58K). Though Plano, Texas takes the cake for lowest pay among TWU grads (the median salary is approximately $54K there), it remains a common destination for former students. Charlotte, N.C. and Denton, Texas are also desirable cities.

Degree Major

A Master of Business Administration (MBA), Accounting leads to the highest pay for TWU grads ($82K on average per year). On the other end of the spectrum, those with a Bachelor's Degree tend to do the worst in terms of salary, making an average $44K per year.


Microsoft Office is a common skill among TWU alumni — close to one-sixth of grads mention using it at work. ADP Payroll System commands a pay premium of 25 percent for former Pioneers. Other prime know-hows include Microsoft Excel, Project Management, and Microsoft Word.

Benefits and Perks

Roughly half of the survey participants are allowed to take paid time off for vacation, but only about one in four survey participants get paid sick leave. A majority of alums receive health insurance, and a majority of alumni get dental coverage. To plan for old age, a majority of former students maintain savings accounts through a company's 401(k) plan. Additional benefits handed to Texas Woman's University alumni include a casual working environment, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, and a company-subsidized cell phone.
