Graduates of TWU head into a range of vocations when it comes to work; the health care services industry, clinical care, and the education industry are just a few professional areas popular among alumni. The majority of TWU alumni wind up in the health care industry. Former TWU students do not typically enter the real estate property management industry; in fact, less than two percent of graduates find work in this area, making it the least likely field for this group to enter. Women make up the majority of graduates who participated in the survey in a female-to-male ratio of more than 3 to 1.


TWU grads who become Family Nurse Practitioners are compensated well above average — these folks are top-earners among their graduating class, making an average $108K yearly. Also notably well-paid are Quality Management Directors and Directors of Nursing; their salaries approach about $107K and around $85K, respectively. Payroll Managers face rather mediocre compensation — average salaries are actually the lowest at $48K.


A large number of students head to Dallas, Texas after college. TWU alumni seeking the highest salaries end up in San Diego, Calif., which offers a median salary of $107K. On the other hand, TWU alumni who end up in Fort Worth, Texas receive the lowest median salary of $40K. Graduates of TWU also relocate to Houston, Texas, which is not far away, and Denton, Texas.

Degree Major

TWU grads who hold a Master of Science (MS), Occupational Therapy (OT) can expect to fare better than most fellow alumni, earning an average around $105K per year. A Bachelor of Science in Family Studies offers the lowest median annual financial reward ($35K).


TWU grads are usually competent in Customer Service, and less than ten percent of alumni continue practicing this skill in their career. Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) seems to be related to bigger paychecks; in fact, skilled alumni bring in salaries that are 15 percent more than their former classmates' salaries (approximately $68K). Other prime know-hows include Budget Management, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.

Benefits and Perks

Only about two-fifths of alumni enjoy paid vacation and one-fourth of alumni receive sick leave. A fair number of grads save up for retirement through a 401(k) plan. A fair number of respondents have medical plans, and a strong majority of respondents have dental insurance. Additional benefits handed to Texas Woman's University alumni include life insurance, tuition reimbursement, a casual working environment, and a company-subsidized cell phone.
