The most highly represented industry among alumni is the logistics services industry. The average starting salary for a graduate of the UTEP is about $60K.


Former UTEP students with an interest in making money consider becoming Operations Managers, the highest-paying gig (average earnings amount to $81K) among this alumni group. Other well-paid jobs include Accounting Managers ($57K) and Geologists (around $56K). Mechanical Engineers wrap up the bottom of the pay scale, earning $55K.


UTEP alumni seem to appreciate living in El Paso, and around half of grads actually choose to stay and find employment here after completing their coursework. Houston, Texas is another hot spot for UTEP grads, where salaries rank at the top of the pay scale (compensation averages out to $74K). Degree Major

Among the highest-paid UTEP alumni are those with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) — they earn close to $108K on average per year. On the other end of the spectrum, those with an Associate's Degree tend to do the worst in terms of salary, making an average $41K per year.


Microsoft Excel is a popular skill among UTEP alumni, with about a fourth of workers reporting using it on the job. Former Miners with C# Programming Language experience garner salaries that are 53 percent more than other grads' salaries. Other prime know-hows include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and Accounts Payable.

Benefits and Perks

Just two-fifths of alumni enjoy paid vacation and merely one-fourth of alumni get paid sick time. A strong majority of grads report contributing to a 401(k). Dental insurance applies to more than half of grads, and a fair number of alums report health coverage. University of Texas at El Paso grads also enjoy benefits like a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, a casual working environment, and company pension plan.
