Field marketing managers must also develop field marketing plans, including online/e-mail and event marketing, as well as organize events for brand promotion and market research. These managers play an important role in their company's marketing division, as they often oversee a team which is responsible for effective business management. They may also delegate and oversee the activities of various subordinates while reporting to higher-ups who determine the overall direction of marketing.
Candidates for the position are generally required to have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in advertising, marketing (sales & retail), communications, business management/administration, or a related field, and some sort of business background is beneficial. Those with significant work experience are almost always preferred.
