Payroll Coordinator Reviews

Q: What is it like working as a Payroll Coordinator?

Payroll Coordinator in Calgary:
"A Monthly Challenge and Flexible Job."
Pros: I get to work in several different areas, however, a large portion of what I do is taken up by the Payroll element. It's a busy season at the end of the month, but its an interesting challenge. I work mostly in an open office space until it comes to the more protected numbers and employee details. Other than payroll, I deal with clients, marketing, information technology, administration, human resources, and external relations.
Cons: The company does not communicate well so those cause problems in my role at times. I haven't been able to move forward through this role and have been in the same place for almost 3 years now. I have received pay cuts because of organizational difficulties while others who share the same title remained at the same wage. And a few power struggles within the company as a whole. The work is good, the coordination of it is not.

Payroll Coordinator in Montréal:
"Satisfying, stimulating and gratifying."
Pros: Payroll and HR is incredibly vast and being able to coach paymasters to see them evolve and exchange with a customer to find a soultion suitable for him is most gratifying.
Cons: Non flexible 35 hour week. I love my job and there is so much to do. I wish I could work 40 hours a week or at least 37.5 hours would be an inprovement.

Payroll Coordinator in Hamilton:
"Bi-Weekly Payroll Administrator"
Pros: There is a fairly regular routine; sole payroll administrator so am flexible of when certain functions can be done; lovely office
Cons: Managers who don't respond/reply in time; communication between departments poor
