Area operations managers oversee the operation of various aspects of a business and ensures everything is working properly, efficiently, and safely within a given region. The specific requirements for this type of job position will vary depending on the type and the size of the company for whom area operations managers work. For example, an area operations manager working for a chain of stores would be responsible for hiring and training staff members (at larger chains, they may just hire supervisors who would then hire the rest of the store’s staff), ensuring that each store meets the chain’s requirements and standards, evaluating performance, and analyzing sales data.
