Pros: High level of Salary or Commissions with a high level customer expectations that in most cases can be met. The golden rule applies… They who have the gold makes the rules. Interaction with employees is awesome, except when it’s not… A nationwide customer base that gives you many prospects to call on. New buzz words for the never changing sales process.
Cons: Customer expectations that if you don’t do it someone else will! A very very very long sales cycle that most cases are a minimum of 12 months from initial contact. Crystal ball that answers the CEOs when they want more cash. You have to know who you can do business with. Giving and getting quotas that are often changed (Business plans that are not followed) Kiss method applies always! No loyalty no matter how much you do. Remember if you had more deals going on it won’t hurt so much when you lose the big one. Whoever coined that phrase should be shot along with the person who says it wasn’t my fault. A CEO wants to know when you will bring in more cash that will pay you the exorbitant salary that you think you deserve… Hiring training and losing the sales person who thinks you have a crystal ball that tells you there needs wants and desires. The CEO wants to know….
