Though this position requires substantial teamwork, the assistant director of sales and marketing must be able to work independently to meet all goals within deadlines.
The assistant director might also be tasked with bookkeeping duties such as accounting and budgeting. Another aspect of this job is making phone calls to follow-up with outside parties and to further promote the company. Some positions may require use of computer analytics programs, so related experience may be beneficial.
Generally, a bachelor’s degree in marketing or another relevant field is needed for this position, as well as previous experience in a related role. Experience with Salesforce and basic software such as the Microsoft Office suite is often required as well. Assistant directors of sales and marketing typically work full time in an office setting.
