Job Description for Global Program Director
Global program directors are in charge of directing all global programs for their company. They are responsible for coordinating worldwide efforts to increase success and efficiency in all programs areas, as well as interacting with and providing leadership to subordinates. The global program director's main responsibilities also include providing expert advice and making important business decisions based on market results, production numbers, and customer feedback. They organize program budgets, gather information on program expenses, and prepare detailed reports to present in business meetings.Read More...
Global program directors also strive to introduce new company offerings to existing and new markets, as well as generate more revenue while minimizing the use of company resources. Additionally, these directors identify key technologies and implement new program initiatives to increase efficiency, customer satisfaction, and brand loyalty. Global program directors must coordinate activities and oversee progress among many departments, divisions, and regions, as well as use strategic thinking to negotiate with vendors, execute plans, and create effective business models. Global program directors also evaluate business and employee performance to find areas of improvement.
A bachelor's degree in business administration or another relevant field is typically required for this job, as is previous experience (including in a managerial capacity). Industry and leadership certifications may be beneficial. Global program directors must have excellent problem-solving skills to anticipate and solve program issues, as well as have excellent organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
