Job Description for Recreation Coordinator

A recreation coordinator's job is to ensure that people enjoy sports, fitness, and leisure facilities to the fullest extent. The coordinator will typically be employed by recreation facilities, and he or she may work for an organization like a public parks department. One can also find recreation coordinators employed at summer camps and at large resorts. The coordinator works to schedule activities and times that allow fair use of recreation and fitness equipment. The coordinator may also be required to oversee and supervise public leagues and team sports, helping to schedule ball fields and basketball courts as required.
