The retail sales consultant is responsible for ensuring customers have an optimal experience as they select products and services. They ensure that the sales areas are clean and organized in accordance to store policy, and they need to follow store display and plan-o-gram instructions to ensure product is displayed correctly. Other responsibilities include keeping current on the features and benefits of products for sale, as well as educating other sales consultants as needed. The sales consultant is expected to handle and lift products; the ability to lift over 50 pounds and bend and reach to access inventory is required.

Attend special training of products/services to understand the product features, trends or styles of the products/services.
Sell the organization's products/services to new or established customers typically via walk-in business.
Process payment for products or service, may maintain customer preference records.
Assist the customer in selecting products/services, answer questions and check for stock and availability.
