Strong research skills are important in order to find suitable employees, and consultants are often expected to provide advice to management regarding compensation levels and which final selections should be made. There are often hiring goals which must be met within certain periods of time, and the effectiveness of a recruitment consultant may be measured by the performance of the hired employees. It is always important to pay attention to shifts within the company or field that will change the culture and, therefore, the recruitment needs and methods. Strong computer skills are also important.
A bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience are generally required for this position. Much of the work in this job is done independently, so it is important to be self-driven in order to meet time-constraints.
