Business bankers work in a financial institution and manage a business loan portfolio that may include small and/or large organizations. They perform careful analysis of prospective clients' needs and best options, working with the client to determine optimal banking solutions. In addition, business bankers are in charge of communicating with current clients to ensure all needs are being met and questions are answered. Business bankers generally work in small teams, so communication and collaboration skills are necessary in this position. Work hours are usually limited to typical business hours, but additional shifts and overtime may occasionally be necessary. These individuals typically work indoors with minimal physical requirements.
Business banker positions typically exist in banks and similar financial institutions. Specific requirements may vary, as smaller banks often have lower experience and/or education requirements than larger institutions. Generally, at least a bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field is needed.
