The job isn't exciting anymore I am a non-techie, but have entered the Software field to make a career out of it. The job was initially very exciting and there's hardly any work now. Am just 1 year experienced, have no clue about how to go about in my career. I am reluctant to get into pure software programming as I'm not confident to do well in it. I am a civil engineering graduate.

Never Let the employer know that you need the job Two simple rules:1. Never express to the employer that you desperately need the job. The HR dept will ensure that you are hired for less salary.2. If asked 'What is your expected Salary, do tell them a salary that goes with the current industry standards.
Build a knowledgebase For last 12 years I am working on my own as an IT consultant to urban banks. The knowledgebase I have acquired getting bits of knowledge whereever I can find and have applied them practically. Over the period I came to know that the knowledgebase with me has been is recognised as standard world wide. Now I want myself to use the same at a broad sprectum instead of using it at urban level. I feel that this experience is going to benefit the company at a large scale.
