I've been reading and see more and more individuals complaining about their peers who possess no college degree, who coincidentally, have experienced growth with a company. Let me be the first to let you know that degrees mean absolutely nothing... ...well, nothing that is, unless you put it to good use to benefit those around you (and how I wish more companies would see this). In my experience, employers respond very quickly to your salary increase if you threaten to leave. Yes this approach is a dangerous one and you should be able to leave (have a job lined up elsewhere) if it wouldn't work. But if it works it works well. Asking for a raise based on increased work volume or additional tasks you perform will give you another 2% a year at best.

1. Know what you are getting into. Plan accordingly. 2. When you are handling something new, sometime it is hard to predict what you are getting into. There will be some learnings, but use the learnings so you don't make the same mistake again. Good Luck
