Some responsibilities of this position involve researching and analyzing possible marketing applications and products to automate marketing tasks. Marketing automation managers work with sales managers to define projects and timelines regarding technical processes, and also communicate with the IT department to troubleshoot issues as needed. They may manage key client and marketing data to increase productivity and conversions and target prospect clients using specialized programs. They generally work in an office environment to oversee completion and deployment of marketing initiatives, and also use a personal computer to run marketing software and respond to client correspondence. They also create documents based on their progress, analyze customer feedback, and implement changes to increase revenue.
These managers should perform efficiently in team settings with other company managers to achieve all marketing objectives in a timely manner. They are also responsible for inputting marketing messages, creating images, responding to emails from vendors and co-workers, and working with the press department to create a single image and message based on company expectations.
A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is generally required for this position, and prior experience in a marketing or managing capacity is highly beneficial. Marketing/managerial certifications are also helpful.
