I've asked for raises and I am sure a lot of others have as well BUT they do not give raises UNLESS you move up as a lead, manager etc. My manager, store and district manager just laughed and say "Sell more and you're make more" but I did that and it doesn't work because they cut our commission rates to peanuts. The only advice I can honestly give is to find a better sales job. Look for one that deals with technology/services. They will pay you higher hourly rate, commission and more benefits.

Keep yourself as versitle as you can. Complaining is not an option. Always remember nobody is irreplacable. There is always someone better or who will do it for less. Make your employer want to keep you and pay you to stay. Being versitle keeps you learning and it helps the BOSS know you want the job. The "complaint department" will never be open. Unless you have serious and sound problems, keep your mouth shut. Pettiness is just that, pettiness. Pay attention to dress codes and all procedures, ...

About how unfair and unprofessional my new manager was. Alot of drama ensued and nothing got better. I ended up putting in my notice because it wasn't worth it to be stressed out over a terrible manager at a retail store.
