Wanting to move to Wisconsin?
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - (City withheld for privacy), Pennsylvania, United States
I would like to move to Wisconsin. I worked in New Hampshere for 23.00 hour and travelled with a company to Philly. With them I got 17.00 hour, however nurses receive about 20.00 hour. Would like to relocate without a company to Wisconsin. What is the pay?

Meet as many employees in the new job place as possible.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - (City withheld for privacy), Illinois, United States
Getting a new job is fairly easy due to the hiring

wage being the lowest. The time of year also makes a big difference. In the fall mom's like

to go back to work since their kids are in school.

The average employer is looking for experience and

accountability. You may look neat and clean, but

it takes alot to get in the job and perform around

people who may have been in that job for years.

Stay calm, positive and always be careful about

what you do. If you are a hard worker and can

perform a lot of work quickly, you may get saddled

with alot more work responsibility than others.

Be aware of your quota. Work at a steady moderate

pace and do good work.

Relocating as an LPN
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - (City withheld for privacy), Indiana, United States
I recently moved from Denver, Colorado to Indianapolis, Indiana due to my husband's transfer at work. Although I was aware of the decrease in wages, I was shocked to find out just how low it was. I have had to take a $18 per hour cut in pay. Yes, the cost of living is a lot lower but wow, that hurts! I have found that by discussing this at the time of job offer has really helped me. My current employer is a county hospital which we all know pays less than the lovely nursing homes. But, my employer was willing to take my time spent during my education as experience which raised my pay a considerable amount. They also have given me experince credit for the classes I am currently taking as I work towards my BSN. Try talking to your new employer about offering you the same thing. As students we did learn quite a bit of information that is usefull and some employers are willing to take into account that you are used to higher wages and are willing to work with you to help you get what they want, as long as you are willing to give them what they want, a competent nurse who is willing to work their needed shifts. And don't forget the sacred shift differential (if you can work eves or noc). Good luck on your move!

Searching for a better salary.
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - (City withheld for privacy), District of Columbia, United States
My advice for anyone that's in the nursing field and looking to do better for their family moving up north is the key to sucess. I have been in Norfolk, VA for 9 and a half years and this is the worst-paying city I have ever lived in. I have even tried jobs outside of my field, and still the same ol pay.
