Operations Manager:
Cross train your team and cross train yourself. It's great to have a superstar and great to be a superstar, but it takes a confident and competent team to succeed. We win, we succeed, we achieve. I lost, I failed, I missed. Prioritize what you can at the beginning of the day and work the plan. Various "urgencies" compete for your time and energy. Learn to say that's not were focused on at this time. Minimize putting out "fires" by not leaving loose ends, give clear directions, train your team, and understand the process yourself. Never stop learning, learn to give your opinion to add to the thought process not to get others to change theirs.

Employees make you.
Operations Manager:
Employees need to respect your authority. First rule. The gift is for you to get those employees to understand you appreciate them for helping you get to success and it was them who made it possible with your direction. My employees make the business go. I just guide it. Make your employees think they are the ones that guide it without stepping into your shoes.
