Major accounts representatives for outside sales are responsible for managing major outside sales accounts for their organization. They are in charge of providing support to accountholders and increasing brand loyalty. They are the first point of contact for customers and should possess strong communication skills to resolve sales issues and ensure an excellent customer experience. They develop strong business relationships with existing major accounts to retain their business. Major accounts representatives for outside sales identify sales opportunities and follow up to demonstrate company products or services as needed. They keep client lists of existing and prospective customers and report their progress to the outside sales vice president in their organization. A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is required for this position. Previous experience in a sales capacity is necessary for this job as well. Major accounts representatives for outside sales should be organized individuals that work well in a fast-paced environment and are results-driven. They must pay close attention to detail, work well in a team environment with other outside sales representatives, and also perform effectively on their own with minimal supervision. They should work well under strict deadlines, have strong time-management abilities, and effectively prioritize sales projects.
