Executive Assistant Reviews
What is it like working as an Executive Assistant?
August 2016
High Expectations, Low Rewards.
Executive Assistant:
Pros: I get to work from home on Fridays.
Cons: I am expected to do a lot and over the years have only ever received a "standard" raise. No matter how much extra work is thrown at me no consideration is given at my review time. My boss is never here and I am expected to run the office alone at least 50% of every week, but again no consideration of this at review time. My boss includes his expenses for having an employee in with my "compensation" so that it raises what he thinks he is paying me. My 3 year review is coming up and I feel I am in line for at least at 15% raise based on the amount of work I currently do for the company, but I know I will be give the "standard" raise again of 2% since my boss doesn't want to pay me for all the work I do for him so he doesn't have to work much.

Executive offices coordinator.
Executive Assistant:
Pros: The ability to fix most issues as they occur.
Cons: No ability to work from home. Our department keeps absorbing other jobs as employees leave and are not replaced. We do not receive raises when we take on new jobs.
August 2016
Make sure the job is offering:benefits/bonuses/incentatives.
Executive Assistant:
Don't be afraid of your boss, say what you mean and mean what you say.
August 2016
Busy, no day is the same.
Executive Assistant:
Pros: I like that each day is different and there is no true "job description"
Cons: The days when there is little or nothing to do.
August 2016
I resolve issue tickets, help people understand processes,
Executive Assistant:
Pros: These is scope of consulting improvements and new proposals. Business analysis and consulting.
Cons: Solving user tickets, working on same type of issues everyday, no new learning everyday. Just plan work and same type of work everyday.

Corporate Culture.
Executive Assistant:
Pros: My managers and bosses are very accommodating. They are up-beat and don't spend much time focusing on an error, they focus on how we can fix the error. They lift the employees up instead of tear them down.
Cons: We are a small company and are, at times, over-worked. The office atmosphere can get a little gloomy and depressing at times.
