It is okay to be affirmative & hang up the phone...
Administrative Assistant:
There is a lot of new information being thrown at you and it is quite reasonable - and acceptable, not to remember everything that is told to you. It is also okay not to know something and to say that you do not know the answer or how to do it. The expectation is to take the initiative to reach out to someone who does know these answers and learn from them, by how they speak to people, the way the information that is relayed and what the steps they do for the follow thru. Observation is the key to success in a new office. Watch and learn what works and doesn't work in the office dynamics and make your own niche in this office culture. If you see something that would work better in a different way, voice your opinion. We are all here for the same reason - to provide the structure, following the guidelines and basic administrative support for our clients and the 100+ field staff that we employ to work with those clients on a daily basis.
