Q: What is it like working as a Legal Assistant?

Legal Assistant in Mount Clemens:
"Small Town County Seat."
Pros: Many restaurant options within walking distance from the County Building and Court house. Parking provided by employer,
Cons: Many empty buildings, many homeless, no easy access from the interstate.

Legal Assistant in Charleston:
"It is convenient."
Pros: The opportunities that Charleston offers individuals.
Cons: Nothing.

Legal Assistant in Tuxedo Park:

Knowledge and being able to run the office in a professional manner when attorney is out of the office. Keeping clients informed and calm wbile dressing over transaction. Have ability to speak to other attorneys in a pproffesional manner and handling crisis as they arise.

Legal Assistant in Beverly Hills:
"Work flexibility."
Pros: I like helping people and doing stuff that actually matters.
Cons: I do more work than I think im getting paid for and my bosses are a little misogynistic.

Negotiate minimal annual pay raises up front. Clarify duties up front.

Pros: Small Firm so close interaction and bond between staff. Leadership role in marketing meetings & firm meetings. Cases I work on.
Cons: Overworked & underpaid as I was hired to be a Legal Assistant, but am having to also be the receptionist thus making to overwhelming/stressful with so much to do.

Pros: I am able to work Mon. Thru Fri. Off weekends and holidays.
Cons: Can be stressful with a large load.
