Maintenance Technician Reviews

Q: What is it like working as a Maintenance Technician?

Maintenance Technician in Greenville:
"Like my job.."
Pros: I like that every day brings something new. One day I am working on refrigerators and the next I may be getting an apartment ready for a new move in.
Cons: Being on call a couple times a month, limits the activities you can do outside of work.

Maintenance Technician in Orlando:
"The job is great! Get to meet a lot of people."
Pros: Vacation is the best time for me.
Cons: They way this place is ran, starting from the people from top, mangers!!!

Maintenance Technician in Evansville:
"Being a maintenance mechanic."
Pros: I like working with machines, figuring out why they don't work, and then making it so they do work. I like the challenge of problem solving. I like the idea of working with robots, programming, and getting them to do what they are supposed to do.
Cons: Working night shift, not having the tools and support of the company. Long hours.

Maintenance Technician in Burlington:
"Love My Work, Not The Rewards."
Pros: Trouble shooting electronic, mechanical and computer systems. I have always loved tinkering, and inventing/adapting electronic solutions to problems. A nice self paced environment, where I have time to do my own projects. And good pay.
Cons: The big company politics. There are so many levels of management that any change, issue, new hire, etc... Takes an act of congress and a long time to complete. Also being expected to do the work of 2 techs with no incentive pay or otherwise due to a dwindling business. The resistance to change has to be the biggest drawback. It's important to note my review is company specific not maintenance in general!

Maintenance Technician in Window Rock:
"It's A Good Learning Experience."
Pros: Travel to the other branches to do repairs.
Cons: Doing renovation projects and doing cost estimate and material cost.
