PayScale’s Onboarding process is designed to help you become a strategic compensation master, in just a few steps.

star_blue Launch: Kickoff

In this first phase of Onboarding, you will meet the PayScale team and get an overall understanding of the process.

Before we meet:

Begin to prepare your employee data and organize your job descriptions. We will send you the tools you need to get started.

Time required by customer:

1 hour online meeting

What to expect:

  • Set up timeline & review Onboarding process
  • Discuss and set up your talent market(s) for benchmarking

Who is involved:

  • Project Lead at your company
  • Other team members
  • PayScale Account Manager
  • Onboarding Specialist

star_blue Launch: Upload

In one of the most critical steps, customers will need to provide their employee data and job descriptions to
move forward.

What to expect:

  • PayScale will upload your employee data
  • Once the upload is complete, we will begin Job Matching

Time required by customer:

1-4 hours on average, depending on internal set up of employee and job data.

 


 

star_orangeMatch: Job

After your data upload is complete, we begin to job match

What to expect:

  • Job Matching will tell you what the market is paying for your positions
  • Review market reports for key positions and refine

star_orange Match: Training

Now that we’ve Job Matched some of your positions, we train you to do the rest.

What to expect:

  • You and your team will learn how to match your remaining workforce positions to the market.

Time required by customer:

1 hour online meeting

star_orange Match: Review

In this critical step, you will review and approve your compensation data.

What to expect:

  • Review market reports for all positions
  • After these meetings, it’s time to share your market reports with your executive team. With everyone in agreement, you’ll be ready to move on to the next step of building and analyzing your comp structure

Time required by customer:

Two, 1 hour online meetings

 


 

star_purple Build: Strategy & Plan

Now that you have your compensation data you are able to build your structure using Insight.

What to expect:

Your team will be trained to use Insight’s key compensation management features. Explore features such as:

  • Strategy Manager
  • Grade Builder
  • Analytics Launchpad
  • Raise Recommender
  • Employee Total Compensation Reports

Time required by customer:

1 hour online meeting. Additional web meetings if necessary.

 


 

star_green Optimize: Refresh

In this ongoing phase, continue to update and monitor your compensation plan.

What to expect:

  • Look at current market trends & hot jobs
  • Monitor your flight risks
  • Review disparate pay concerns
  • Explore new features of interest
  • Discuss plan for refresh of account (updated employee data file)

Time required by customer:

1 hour online meeting. Additional web meetings if necessary.

Best Practices:

  • Refresh your employee file annually, 1 month before you begin your annual compensation planning cycle
  • Your Payscale Account Manager and Customer Support team are available to answer any questions
